Hey!! This was the best week ever because my baby came ;) HermanaBettridge is blonde like me and she is from Owasso, Oklahoma. We
literally matched outfits without even meeting each other on the first
day we met. President called her name after I came up and introduced
my area and as we walked up to each other everyone laughed because
they noticed we had the same skirt and shoes and everything , and
President Mortensen just said "Look at that, a match made it heaven"
from over the pulpit. How cute!! She is perfect and her Spanish is
already soooo good! She majors in French Education at SUU, so that's
probably why. I think she's gonna teach me more than I can teach her!
She has done so well this week. She has already invited several people
to be baptized and though she doesn't love it yet, she has knocked
several doors! Woohoo! She is the best! Her boyfriend at home is also
taking the missionary discussions right now, at home, so if you could
pray for him, that would be perfect.

While I was waiting for her to come, I got to go to a different area so I wouldn't be alone, called Conroe! It was SO fun and crazy because everyone there loves Hermana Lowry (my companion from a while ago who is also my twin and sister and life, etcc) So specifically, I went to one of Hermana Lowry's recent convert's houses to teach her, Paulina, and she COULD NOT believe it. She looked at my tag so hard and even during the lesson she kept interrupting the lesson to say how she kept thinking I was "Lowry" hahaha and even more special was that Francelia, Hermana Lowry's other recent convert came to the lesson with us. I just felt so much love for them because Hermana Lowry always talked about them and it was so fun to meet them and be their friend.

On Friday we took our recent convert, Adrian, to the temple for Faith Meets Families, and he loved it so much because it was his first time doing baptisms for the dead and he was able to be baptized for his uncle, as well as 12 other people. He says he can't wait to go back and do more! How special! If you're curious what baptism for the dead is, you can ask me, as well as look up a few scriptures in the bible about the spirit world:
1 Peter 3:18-19 and 1 Peter 4:6, that talk about Christ preaching to the Spirits in "prison"... These are those who have died without a knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Have you ever thought about how the vast majority of humankind hasn't had the chance to hear about Him? Do you think God loves them too and wants to give them a chance? He does! So they are being preached to as we speak, even though they have died. But what happens when they want to accept the gospel? They can, but they still need to be baptized! But wait... Their bodies are dead here on earth. They're only spirits.... This is where temples come in. The original church that Christ established also practiced baptisms for the dead. Pull out your bible and go to 1 Corinthians 15:29... Here, Paul casually mentions this, because it's so normal to them. He's teaching about the resurrection and how the reason WHY we do baptisms for the dead is because the resurrection is gonna happen! The dead will rise again. So we need to let them have the opportunity to be saved on judgement day. As Christ promises in John 3:5, one cannot be saved without being baptized by water and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost :)
