1. I love food, and somehow made friends on instagram with the chef here before I got here...using google translate, and because of that, he loves me!! His name is Estaban. One day, he brought out to the whole cafeteria a giant plate of brownies just to my district. A few days later he told my companion and I to come back into the kitchen secretly, and gave us a box of these chocolate things that we had to hide in our pockets and share with our district again, and he said it was a secret.. So, always make friends with chefs. Always.
2. Our first investigator, Rosa, who is really a teacher here, Hermana Silva, stopped my companion and I and gave us earrings that she bought for us... so yeah, she is my favorite. She is always so kind and giving us hugs. I love her mucho!
3.In sacrament, what they do here is they have everyone prepare a talk on the same topic, and they call people up at random to speak... and guess who was the first speaker! You guessed it.. and I got to talk for five minutes in Spanish about...*drumroll please*... The Great Apostasy.... hahahaha, kind of a random topic. The cool thing was, as we were taking the sacrament, I got the distinct impression that I would be speaking, and that what I needed to say after I gave the talk I had already prepared..So awesome. I love the Spirit.
4.This week my companion and I taught two real ladies, both members, about how to receive revelation through the Book of Mormon. I understood everything they were saying! They said my Spanish was coming along really well, and the second lady shared with us that she was going through some really hard stuff in her life. We shared some scriptures with her, and talked about how the Book of Mormon had helped us, and she ended up crying..The Spirit was just so tangible! And you know (as I told Emilee earlier) that was not because of my two-year-old Spanish grammar..It was all The Spirit! I have never felt so happy in all my life. That moment made me want to be a missionary for eternity!
5. I got so many awesome letters and packages this week. I always feel so much love from you guys! Thanks for being the absolute best.
I know that everywhere, people are going through rough times. Life is difficult, and it isn't supposed to be easy, but remember that you have a Savior who loves you more than anything. What are we all doing here on this Earth? Well, we are here to learn and to grow. But this life on earth is so temporary. Never forget that. Your afflictions will be but for a small moment. Never forget to reach out to your Father in Heaven who loves you more than anything. I love you all so much and love hearing from you every week!
